When you are a boy
If Bowie had been only a musician he wouldn’t appear here. I don’t understand anything about music, though I’m a son of Rock. Twenty minutes into a concert of classical music and I start looking at the architectural features of the concert hall (even more so if I’m in the Palau de la Música in Barcelona, of course). But Bowie was much more than a musician and he was extraordinarily talented in, let’s say, the visual arts, as can be seen once again in this wonderful exhibition brought together by the Victoria & Albert Museum.
Bowie has had a thousand disguises, but dressed in a suit and tie singing When you are a boy he’s better than ever. But it’s best not to be too laddish, without a feminine touch you’ll never be a great artist. Real macho men don’t stand a chance.
