Paving with memory
Set in the landscaped environs of the Acropolis of Athens, the work of the brilliant Dimitris Pikionis. He not only designed it, but also arranged every square inch of it personally over four years of work. A splendid and heterogeneous collage of marble and ceramic fragments from antiquity, 19th-century demolitions in Athens, and more recent fragments.
Great, Great, Pikionis! (Revealed to me by Enric Miralles who, knowing me, knew I’d be enthralled.)
