Taxi Pluvieuse
Fourth version of the Taxi Pluvieuse that Dalí exhibited at the Paris Exposition de Surréalisme in 1938. The one I am contemplating is the Cadillac that the artist gave to Gala and with which, driven by her (he never drove), they crossed the USA. The original idea was born when, after a persistent downpour, they managed to take a taxi and then Dalí said “now that it has stopped outside it will start raining inside”. To see rain inside you have to throw a coin in a gadget located at the foot of the work (sacrifice that Dalí loved).
